Do women find card collectors sexy?

  • I like women's sports as well as men's. I have quite a few WNBA cards. I love Sue Bird and I have almost every card ever printed of her. I also have some Danica Patrick items. I've had one lady friend that found it flattering that I respected the female athletes so much.

But if you're like most men, you won't dare mention the reasons why. "Well, I DO respect them in the sense that sex with a female athlete is probably pretty darn good." image

And with that, my reservation to hell is secure. image

That's something whereby you can perform magnificently with for 1,000 straight times, but the one time you don't perform well, that's the one she'll talk about to all of her friends.

I misfired a couple of times but she said that even though I misfired, I made up for it in SIZE. That is another reason why she keeps comin' back. She is missin' my lovin' but it's too late baby ! chaz

I have a miniature basketball that Sue signed for me at a game in Indianapolis. She's really cute in person. I also got a Danica Patrick signed mini helmet in person. She's really pretty in person as well.

In the Lionel Carter picture, does anyone else think the kid in the Rockwell painting looks like a young Lionel?

There is no doubt that card collecting in this culture would be considered geeky. Its not something you want to tell a girl you are getting to know right away. I would not hide it for so long either because if she cannot look past that hobby, she is really not drawn to you in other aspects anyway.

However, a girl should realize that card collecting shows the guy can preoccupy himself. Hobbies are important as it serves as an outlet. No matter how much a girl or woman loves you, they are not going to be with you every second, so if they know you have a hobby to fall back on from time to time, they feel less guilty about their alone time. There are far worse hobbies to have, so I think women should look more deeply into the virtues of card collecting.

Someone brought up the clutter part. I totally understand that. Women get really annoyed about clutter problems so as long as one is sensitive to that, they will not mind our hobbies.

I must be missing something .

I don't see why anyone would think card collecting is geeky at all .

As far as woman thinking it is sexy I'm having a hard time connecting collecting to sex in any way .

Is it a : Size matters kinda thing ?:

: Oh my God ! What a Huge card collection you have :
    : That's not a card collection , that is a weapon :
    : Don't forget to use a Penny Sleeve :

My wife deals with card collecting, though she will never fully get it. We met back in our college days, so during those time my collecting habit was in hibernation due to lack of time and most importantly lack of monetary resources. Though I do not consider myself an ugly guy, she definitely did not marry me for my sexiness, as I am a typical electrical engineer one class away from a masters degree in electrical engineering, who also owns a pet gecko and a couple of pet treefrogs!

If we are in Target she does not mind throwing a blaster or two into the cart for me and then opening a few packs, and she recently bought me a 1954 Ashburn at the local mall show.

Overall she does not find the hobby sexy, and even thinks that it is kind of strange that grown men collect pictures of other men, but she still gives me the freedom to do what I like. Our new baby will eat into my hobby time a bit, but that is a good thing.

  • I don't fit the full geek stereotype. I'm a former state powerlifting champion which is an anti-geek activity. Even though I've retired from competition (bc/ injuries) I've still managed to work out a bit. I still have some decent sized arms, chest, and legs. Then I have my geeky hobbies. I guess I just don't completely fit into any stereotype. By the way, women don't like to go to powerlifting contests either. However, they appreciate it when you take your shirt off.
