Home Metal Detecting

Finally got to go detecting

The spider bite is all healed up and I finally got to go detecting in Southern Arizona. Found a total of 66 clad cents. But, what a great place to detect.

Here is the old coot doing his thing.

After a great day in the out of doors, we drove off into the sunset. All in all, it was a great day.

    Great pics!

Looks a wee bit dangerous, ya old coot, what, with those open mine shafts! Do you live in that area?

  • kiyote......I live about 45 miles from there between November and April each year. The rest of the year I live in Colorado. Winters in Colorado can be a bit difficult, so I get out of there. I can handle the open mine shafts ok. This is something you have to always be on the lookout for.

This is a timber rattler. They make a pretty good meal if you are in a survival situation.

The desert out here in the Mojave is littered with shafts. Most are shallow test digs but there are some death traps to be found as well. Gotta be careful, especially in the hills.
