What would be a fair offer for a ....

an unopened bank roll of 62 cents. He's family so I want to give him a fair price, but I just don't collect these and have not a clue. TIA. jws

    Not much. $2?

There are countless unopened rolls out there. The coins inside usually don't look too nice either--1962 cents usually coome with some pretty bad copper-milk spots.

If he's family give him $4-5, but not more.

BUT, if he has a lot of rolls, just the $2 per roll is enough.

Heck if he's family and he really wants to offer them to you. Why don't you open the roll and individually grade the coins. You might be lucky and get an MS67 coin that could be worth a boat load ... or you might have 50 cents worth of coins. If he was my family member I would probably offer $10 just to take the coins off his hands, and if I opened it and found junk ... eh a loss of $9.50 is nothing and if I found a good coin that was worth something I would split the real worth with him. It's a win/win as far as I'm concerned.

50 cents. An ultra-common roll from the height of the early 60's roll & bag boom.

Is there some reason you truncated the title of your post, rather than mentioning "fair offer for a ROLL OF '62 CENTS?"

None I can think of, so I'll claim ignorance. No sarcasm intended. Please accept my apology. I will strive to improve. Sincererely, jws.

Thanks to all for the help.

For a $2 roll I would not charge anything to family.

coinflation.com says pre copper cents are worth $0.0243585 each for their metal content today.

that would be 1.217925 per roll for their melt value.

I think $2.50 per roll sounds fair.

    I agree.
That would be all he would get on ebay after fees etc.
