what is 12k gold worth ?

I found a hefty gold chain on the ground today that says 12k GF on it... what would an oz of 12k be worth ?

a spoof would be easy on this one.
so if your chain weighs 20 oz ( example ) it would contain 1 oz of 12K gold...
trouble is the gold is usually bonded to the outside of the piece and wears first so if the piece is used the gold is what wears first so the content is actually much less.... gold filled is kinda like a low yeald mine, it only gets worked when the prices skyrocket..
do a google and you should get a formula for figuring out the gold value I know they used to have it back in 79 in the coinworld ads from the refiners for buying the stuff

Actually, 22K is .9167 which is the fineness of Kruggerrands and AGE's.
