TnT I would think more then 1 guy was involved and if that is the case then one would roll on the other maybe?

Proof would be alot easier had they been slabbed, but then again the thieves could have simply cracked the cards out too.

  • WOW!! That's not too far from where I live (I'm in Gainesville) glad to hear he got his cards back. Of course I support the death penalty for the thieves.

i saw another video and this store was indeed a nicely stocked store. the video showed high dollar cards such as a couple of t206 mathewsons and t3s, goudeys, etcetra. he has alot of pre-war cards. i am sorry i doubted it in the first place. story just felt fishy. its great to see they caught the thief (david gonzalez) and that dan got most of his his cards back, especially the mantle! best of luck to him.

The story did sound like an insurance scam.

However, if the accused doesn't point a finger back at the owner, he has my deepest and most sincere apologies.

  • How did they catch this guy anyway? If it was me, I would be half way to Mexico by now! image

Very good to hear he got his cards back, and I would love to hear the story how they catch that image

I am very happy to hear the guy got his cards back. I guess we shouldn't judge people before we know all the facts.

All to often (and I am as guilty as anyone) we form an opinion before we know all the facts.

Someone will come here and claim a seller or buyer ripped them off or failed to pay and we

automatically side with the person that speaks first (most of the time). The written word is

very powerful. I am glad this guy got his cards back. Something similar happened to me years ago

luckily only money was taken and a few BS coins.

  • What a moron.
He claims the 52 mantle is rare & his rookie

    Sorry Charlie,

I wonder if the thug who stole these knew about cards, or stole them because of the price tag, and hoped for a quick flip at the local pawn shop?

    Carew,
I was wrong and am certainly man enough to admit it without your "told you so post". I think I speak for the others when I say, Thanks for keeping a boxscore on this thread, but noone here needs to be called out .

Incidentally, I am glad my assumption was wrong and pleased the card (s) were recovered.

    edited to lessen the harshness.

The Mantle, at least, WAS slabbed by PSA.

Ladder 7 ---would like me to build a couple of cry ducks under your eyes for you?? This was the first thread that i decided to "keep" a score on. And i'll even include myself on other threads where i may have jumped to a conclusion too soon as WinPitcher stated as we do on occasions.

Nice to see you got your rants down pat. I hear they have men's panties that can take care of that problem for ya.

I Didn't bother reading your whiney PM. You can say whatever you want about me like a real man on the boards. I'll assume it was a personal attack in nature??? Knock yourself out. BTW, is that you in drag on the bike? See how easy that was?

    Quack, quack, my good man.

Whew, haven't had a beating like this since I had a banana in my pocket and someone turned the chimpanzee loose. *How can I go on?*

Carew ie; "one that is without flaws", I wouldn't need to reply to your aggressions with this rant, had you replied to my direct message to you!

Didn't expect you to admit you're comment -that instigated this, was trivial and juvenile, but I did expect you to at least have the stones to reply to my message- Proven by you with your adolescent dig at my signature photograph. No, you're like that puppy that snarls and barks at passerby's from behind the fence. For future reference, when you begin to grow hair down there, that is your signal to act like a man and not an insult-wielding schoolgirl.

The others on the list may sit idly by, but I felt obligated to call you out on it -wrongly thinking it was a simple snafu you would admit to.

I'm done and yea you scored. You won the respect of the board by publicly humiliating a group of those that god forbid, made an error.

I will try to message you once more -I hope you prove me wrong. -Steve
