todays stuff 3-14-08

its a little slow around town. seems like no one is tearing anything down. there a few spots that i've hitting repeatedly. i go a little slower and change some of the standard settings. the big token/medal thing is about dollar sized. its special to me, cause the brewery was in my hometown and demo'd long ago.

Your right demo. It has been slow here. I'm going to try to get out on sunday. Suppose to be in the
40's. The snow is 90% gone.
The beer coin is pretty cool!
  • cool find demo...i like the ball schedule...hh

That medal is great. At first, when I saw the obverse, I found it a bit ho-hum- an aluminum token from the 1950s with a dull design. But the game schedule on the reverse really makes it interesting. And possibly of interest to the sports memorabilia collectors, too.

You sure do find a lot of clay marbles, dude. I have yet to find one in the ground. Found a sweet one once, but it was indoors under some furniture.

  • Love the token/medal!

    Nice work!

Demodigger, are both those marbles clay?.. The one on the left has unusual color.... Cheers, RickO
  • gotta have a trained eye when your searching an old site. old homes almost always have marbles. the one on the left is a brown glazed "benington". that came out of a target hole. the other is a chinese clay that was laying on top of a recently dug trash pit. those chinese clay marbles are everywhere here in san jose. everywhere old that is. i've found 3 this year so far.

i may have a chinese marble give away if anyone is interested. they're at least 110 years old.

I would be interested... but I am also a marble collector... so naturally. Thanks for the information... interesting Bennington... Cheers, RickO
  • Nice selection there Demo. The medal is super cool and the suspender/garter clip to the left of the token looks neat.

I enjoy seeing the marbles that you often find during your detecting trips as well.
