OT- full house!

I wouldn't take a 50-lb sack of Brasher doubloons for this lot!

Two plus-sized adults, one child, and now SEVEN critters, with the addition of Dixie! All in a smallish singlewide mobile home! (Well, not ALL. Max, Dixie, and O.C. are outside critters.)
Well, y'know... come to think of it, I might accept a nice coin in exchange for Oscar.
He's a handsome fella, but rather aloof. What gratitude do I get, for saving his life when he was a kitten? Very little, unless he's hungry or wants to be let in! Then he's all friendly. Hmph.
Here's Oscar as he was just after the rescue, when his malnourishment had improved a little. He was so runty and small. Now he's bigger than Bailey the dog!
(Hey, this thread is not totally OT- there's a Morgan dollar in that pic! Guess the date and grade, if you like!)
Sometimes I swear I would trade Max for a VG/corroded/scratched 1964-D Jefferson nickel.
He's ladymarcovan's dog. Again, a handsome beast, but dumber than a box of rocks. And destructive, like a bull in the proverbial china shop.
O.C. stands for "Outside Cat". Just a stray who adopted us, and is making himself at home on the porch (and inside, when he can make a break for it). He's a nice fella. A bottomless pit, though. Feeding him will likely bankrupt us, except he'll eat just about anything. In truly astonishing quantities.
Heaven help me, I do love them all, even dumb old Max.

When I do up custom flips for her Victorian type set, I thought I might use the thumbnail of that picture for the backs of the flips.
I'd last about 10 seconds in your house though. I'm highly allergic to cats and it doesn't take long in a house where cats live before I'm sneezing, itching and my eyes are swelling shut.

You've met Penny, too, Michael. She was one of the cats we had with us when we fled Hurricane Floyd and came to shelter under your roof. Remember when the cats got loose in your cavernous basement and we couldn't find them?
<< <i>Bailey has a Dead King pedigree! We got him from Aethelred and Mrs. Aethelred!

I hated that dog, but he, she or it (I don't remember) turned out very good for you guys. I don't remember the loose cats, but I do remember that dreadful spooky basement.

He (well, it, now) is a terrific dog, and I'm a cat person. He was a handful when we got him offa you because he wasn't housebroken (which I suspect was the primary and sole reason for your hatred), and it took about two weeks of patience and cajoling and reward and punishment to housebreak him, but when that was done we were in the clear, and he's been great. I daresay he's the best dog I've had in 42 years.
man, with a pack of critters like that, they must know you by first name at Costco's pet food department!

We thought about downsizing the house, then we figured out 4 bedrooms was perfect. Ours, my study, she who must be obeyed quilting/painting studio, and a spare for when one of the kids comes to visit.
The oldest came down from NYC two weeks ago, she works in advetising, if you don't like the new Verizon ads you can blame her. I don't know where we went wrong with that one, but she brought her yankee lawyer boyfriend with her. I hope you have better luck teaching your daughter lordmarcovan.

Ohhh, lap of luxury. While we've got over an acre of land fenced in, which is great for critters to roam, the home itself is only like 12' x 60'-something. Geez. I gotta shovel a mountain of crap off one corner of the kitchen/living room/dining room table to do any coin work.
A study of my own would be dreamy.
Actually, there is a workshop outbuilding (the previous owner of the land was a carpenter and built it), but since it is uninsulated and open under the eaves, it cannot be air conditioned until the interior of it is "finished". It is windowless and probably gets to 125 or 130 degrees in summer. But one day it will be my workshop, if we can shovel out an even bigger mountain of crap and clutter and insulate and panel the interior and mount a wallbanger AC unit.
Dreamy.
That's a nice family you have there.... You can certainly tell that Miss Victoria is her father's child.....Very pretty youg lady you have there. I know you are very proud of her. Now when are you going to have a set of die's made from that picture and when will the gold planchet's be struck....... I'm sure they will all be PCGS PR 70's.
P.S.
Please remember to put my name in the hat for the first strike giveaway............
we used to have 5 cats, 3 dogs and 3 aquariums, but this last year was a hard year for the animals (lost 3 cats and 1 dog - all to old age or senility)... still have 2 dogs, 2 cats and the aquariums, tho.
How old is Victoria (she looks about 6 to me)? I also have a youngn' that will be turning 6 in June - gotta get a current picture of her scanned so that I can post it.

You nailed it- Victoria is six. Seven this September. I think she was still five when that picture was taken, though.
