LAME.
When I handed it to him, he said, "Wow, this is pretty impressive."
I was awestruck, told him that I appreciated the comments, and he was the first to sign it in probably 15 years.
"How much do you want for it?"
Huh?!?
I laughed it off as a joke and thanked him again for the compliments.
"No, seriously, how much?"
Holy crud, he was being serious... So I replied, "Mr. Seaver, I'm sorry to say but it's not for sale."
He laid back into his chair and asked the assistant next to him how much he should offer.
"Again, Mr. Seaver, I'm sorry but it's not for sale. I started this project about 25 years ago and have zero interest in selling. It's something close and personal to me that actually gives me incentive to continue getting autographs as time goes on. Heck, this is a perfect example, since again, you're the first in about 15 years."
He laughed, signed it, and then we shook hands as I thanked him again. I actually started to blush realizing that I refused to sell something to a HOFer.
True story.
