With Kevin Johnson announcing that he is running for mayor of Sacramento it reminds me of many other athletes who have gone into politics. Many with success and some with not. I believe Steve Sax ran for state legislature and lost. Anybody have good athletes in politics stories? I have posted a story and photo of KJ on my blog if you are interested. BLOG LINK

Not yet but has indicated he will eventually run for something in Alabama.
<< <i>Gerald Ford was an All-American center at Michigan before he became president, Bill Bradley, the Knicks great, ran for president back in 2000. >>
Bill Bradley was the one I was think of, but couldn't put a name to a face. If extending into college sports, George Bush Sr. played for Yale I believe.
