Thats alot of area to cover. I know there are people all over because of it being a park but I'd check the river
    or a nice shade tree.
  • Gene, you'll be busy for awhile. Good luck.

  • Stay clear of the bobble-headed natives... I hear they're cannibals.

Try places that would have spectators sitting in the grass. They most likely would lay on their backs too and that is when things fall from pockets.

I would check the soccer fields first, then the spectator area around them, then the spectator areas around the baseball field, the warm up areas around the baseball fields and then the baseball outfields and the football fields. If no one has been there ahead of you you might as well live there for awhile.

Is there a main concession stand area. If there are moveable tables there on grass that would be another spot.

    Happy hunting.

Skate change areas around the ice rinks.
Anywhere where people get horizontal, by accident or on purpose.

    Hey Gene-

Chances are that these parks has been hunted a bit in the past. I am a coinshooter (oldsters) and here's what I'll generally do: Look for hills and places that are harder to get to with your detector. A lot of detectorist do not like to hunt on an incline. It's work but there tends to be some fun stuff to be found. Look for the little plateaus that may occur within those hills. These flat areas tend to accumulate coins and such. Also right at the bottom of the hills. Try to get in between bushes and trees where you can barely swing a coil. In hunted out parks, this is generally where I'll find some of the better material. Look for trees whose roots are uncovered. This is an indication that a lot of fill dirt hasn't been added over the years. That's all for now. Good luck and happy hunting.

  • Gene....Over the years, I have had very good luck at soccer fields. Especially near the sidelines where parents get excited with their son's/daughter's play. If there is a grass median just before the parking lot, folks lose things while pulling out their car keys. Looks like a great place to hunt. Good luck and keep us informed of any finds....Ken
