<< <i>The 2008 gold buffalo is a better buy at $1,018.88. >>
Yeah but that is not proof.
Shoot, we will have to pay an arm and a leg by the time the Buffalo Fractionals come out.

Boy, I think we talked about this a few threads ago. I kind of remember stating that the Buff's where a good play... some thought so some did'nt.. at any rate.. even if you buy one now they may cancel your order [ I personally think more here are buying than will admit]. Time will tell. One thing for certain.. the price isnt going to be lower.
Buying the Celebration Buffaloes????
Come on fractionals!!!
FLBuff, any idea when the fractional Buffaloes are coming out???
Even the Silver Commems are getting a bit higher.
Anyone here recall what the Franklin Commems were at the US Mint Site?
<< <i>Anyone here recall what the Franklin Commems were at the US Mint Site? >>
The Franklin 2006 Founding Father and Scientist commems were $33 for the MS, $35 for the proof.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

So the Bald Eagles of 2008 go for 44 now hmmmmmm. A bit of an increase even if it has been 2 years.
Now........who's buying the most expensive American Gold Eagles ever?????????????
<< <i>The 1/10th oz. coin price difference is interesting, as a % change. Respectfully, John Curlis >>
Good note, John.
The $3.00 increase is really insignificant.
It must have to do with the core high price that exists on most 1/10th ouncers.
10 x $149.95 = $1,495.50......that's way over by %50 of spot.
Shoot, we will have to pay an arm and a leg by the time the Buffalo Fractionals come out.
Or, if the price goes up further, trade for them with gold bought at lower prices.

Hey, this AGE Proof issue could be one of the lowest in sales numbers in years!!!!!!
Will that outweigh the high purchase price??????
What say you????
The official 2008 American Eagle Gold Proof Mint PR, just posted within the hour.
They are sooo ready for this issue....there will be no Bald Eagle screw up on this one!!!!!

2008 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins Available March 4
WASHINGTON-The United States Mint has struck American Eagle Coins since 1986. Twenty-two years later, the tradition continues with the release of the 2008 American Eagle Gold Proof Coins at noon (ET) on March 4, 2008.
American Eagle Gold Proof Coins-struck in 22-karat gold-bear the "W" mint mark indicating their production at the United States Mint at West Point. Emblazoned on the obverse is Augustus Saint-Gaudens' celebrated rendition of Liberty holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Gracing the reverse of the coin is an image of a male eagle carrying an olive branch flying above a nest containing a female eagle and her hatchlings, designed by sculptor Miley Busiek. Each coin is sealed in a protective capsule and mounted in a handsome, satin-lined velvet presentation case. A Certificate of Authenticity, documenting the coin's place in history, is included.
American Eagle Gold Proof Coins are struck multiple times for a frosted cameo image specially made for collectors. These coins are available in one-tenth ounce, one-quarter ounce, one-half ounce and one ounce denominations. Prices and mintages are as follows:

<< <i>Getting so expensive now. I'll not order any. >>
That was my exact thought when the 10th Anniversary Set came out for $999.00 back in 1995!
The name is LEE!
2007 UNC
Nothing special about these unless you get a 70 or gold goes to $1200.
<< <i>WOW, 60,000 1 oz Proofs !!!

Yep that would be a .05 profit if gold goes to $1200. $250+ over spot is a little aggressive on the mints part I think.
