I charge $2.50 to ship with confirmation and $.25 each additional item. If you add the cost of shipping supplies I am losing money to ship and my rating is 4.7 too. It's going to be a never ending battle.

Jerry, as an occasional buyer. I do not get this 4.7 vs 4.8 business. What's up with that?

ebay has offered a final value fee rebate to seller who have all their star ratings at 4.8 or higher. Many buyers won't give 5 stars unless you offer free shipping. Thus to get the final value fee credit, we need to offer free shipping so shipping costs now have to come out of the sale price and ebay now gets a cut on shipping too. If you charge shipping instead of rolling it into the sale price, they don't charge FVF on shipping.

Not trying to distract from the Russ Rocks thread, he deserves the praise, but want to make sure he gets his 5 stars. --Jerry

It costs $1.31 plus the bubble mailer to ship with confirmation. How are you possibly losing money? I charge $3 and have a 4.8, I dont get it?

On shipping, I always state; "$3 S&H. I ship well protected in a padded mailer with Delivery Confirmation and insurance" Granted on coins less than $25 I self insure. 150 transactions later, I have 4.9's all the way across.

If you charge a fair price, you should have a fair star rating. You guys sell higher end stuff than me, so maybe your customers are just expecting more, I dont know. I'm sorry to see any of the true Ebay goodguys not do well and get the " discount ".

I clicked on the compucheap consignment sales and it looks like this:

$1500 and up - 5%
$500 to $1499.99 - 7.5%
$100 to $499.99 - 10%
Up to $99.99 - 15%

So how does that work? If one consigns ten coins that sell for $200 each, is the fee ten percent of each coin or 5% of the entire consignment?
