Set mine up this morning. Perhaps I need to get used to it or they can be disabled, but those damned LED lights are extremely annoying for slabs. On raw, it works out ok.

There are two ways that seem to work ok for me. In the software turn off auto and just leave them on, or turn them off and use your own lighting depending on how close to the slab you get.

I didn't know you can turn them off. Thanx for the tip.
To be honest, I expected better optics from all the hype on these things. Pics just don't seem to have a consistent clarity/sharpness. Has anyone tried the new 413TL (10X - 92X, 2" - 10" working distance). I'm thinking it might be better suited for shooting the complete coin.

I think it takes some getting used to and a steady hand.
I made a mount that goes with the copy stand I made a while back...it works great!

Some of the pictures make me think there is a 'depth of field' issue.. but it could be just getting used to it.. seems to go away the higher the magnification. Cheers, RickO

Rick, you are absolutely right. For any given distance, I can focus on some parts of the coin but not others.
