The postal processing is getting screwier

For the zillionth time (which is pretty accurate by my last count) in the past several months, I received a numimatic periodical that was totally trashed and in one of the famous USPS body bags. What the heck are they doing? Did they speed up their equipment? Different equipment?

Never had a problem (knock on wood). But, my postman still rides a pony.

all magazines and other large envelopes are now being processed on high speed "flat sorting machines"
They are fed into the sorting section by vacuum which holds the piece by it's front or back cover. if it;s flimsy
it tends to rip or tear or crumple it into a mess.
But they do sort fast ........

The numismatist and the PCGS mags I get seem ok. They get folded when put in my P.O. box though.
