labels....why the premium prices for same grade?

Same grade....premium price for different label....I see it all the time....20th anniversary especially dramatic differences proof, ms70's
just because they have that "special" 20th anniversary label....somebody explain it to me like I'm a six year old....the burnishes, mint marks,
the same from one slab to the next...but???? The reverse proof is the only exception of course, and it always gets the 20th anniversary
designation....but the others????? Would you pay more for one or the other of my two above samples? First strikes, Early releases, blah,
blah, blah.....talk to me people...

....and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make....

Apparently so do others.
No, but I would not get mine slabbed in the first place.
Collectors collect what they want to collect. Trying to understand someone else's collecting methods and madness is often futile.
Speculators feed these insane appetites and the insane continue to gobble them up!
Yes, these are the same coin. Yes, the only difference is the slab label but its that label that makes them just a little bit more different than somebody else's. Does it mean the coin has more value? Not necessarily but so what! Does First Strike™ mean the coin is of better quality? Nope, but so what?
The question you posted is a valid question but it deserves the same merit as asking why do some people collect buttons while other's collect Van Gogh's?
The answer is always the same.
There is no rhyme or reason, they just do it!
