Is it OK to trade services for cards on this forum?

Before I post my services, I wanted to check to see if it's OK to trade them for cards/collections. I don't want to violate rules if it's not accepted.

Blessings,

Steve

  • I didn't want to post if it was inappropriate. I've written books and courses on real estate investing and I teach people how to flip houses. I've been teaching for nearly 7 years now and have 1000's of successful students across the country. Many of the newer courses, seminars and boot camps are people who learned from me. If someone were interested in learning, I'd consider bartering for cards. If it's not appropriate please forgive my posting.

Will it's a buy, sell, and TRADE board so I don't have a problem with it, but you may run across some negativity.

  • The actual site is Flipping Homes where I do all of my teaching. What you posted is just my personal site. Thanks for understanding.

although i love watching your informercials at 2:30 am when i have had to much to drink, you may want to find another board.

maybe if you were selling the flowbee or ginzo knives you would have a chance but real estate is why beyond our scope.

  • Real Estate is alive and well if you know what you are doing. There are many who post here that collect and there are those who make a living buying and selling cards. Same concept, real estate usually has more zero's in the transactions. If you buy real estate right, you'll profit, if you buy a card collection right you'll profit, or have fun with the cards. I'm a good teacher and I have two young boys that I'd like to get a nice collection going for so that we can pursue the activity together. So if anyone is interested in learning solid real estate investing techniques, I'll be willing to swap courses/seminars for cards. Dollar for dollar, you'll get much more in trade then trying to sell your collection.

The money I make by myself, though not enough to retire, seems like more than I could make by selling a book? Please PM

    Is any one buying it?

The same can be said for the hit-man industry. Either way, the stakes are pretty darn high. I know several people who got stung with real estate lately. Not a pretty picture.

  • I can't figure how you can make a lot of money in the housing market after you figure in the capital gains tax. You would have to make a 400% profit to make any money once 40% is taxed.

Digi, it is in Cambridge MA, which has had little to no decrease in the market, I had 18 people at an open house only advertising on Craigslist. Also have a buyer's father flying in this weekend from Scotland..hopefully to write a check.

-Cap gains aren't bad it is only 15%, plus I am my real estate broker's license, mortgage broker's license, and I am a licensed contractor...gotta spread the tax! I know ALOT of people who are having a tough time in this business. I cant even count the people in foreclosure, repo'd cars etc. that I have spoken to. If you KNOW the area, there are some deals out there. For instance this house I bought rough 100k below market value for a number of reasons, out of town realtor, SERIOUS foundation problems, etc. It just so happened that a few "EXTERNAL OBSOLESCENCES" turned in my way.

    1. They tore down the Italian club in the back of the house, barbed wire fence and all, and built 4 luxury new construction condos
    2. Microsoft is opening their first research and development company at the end of the street, along with 4 new Biotech companies
    3. A few huge buildings that were going to be condos, have either folded, or decided to rent.

Erm... surely I am not the only one wondering why the OP does not simply apply their real estate expertise to amass their personal fortune and BUY the collection they seek?

    Am I?

Did I just see the word "spackle" in a card trading forum? lol

    That is a pimp-a$$ bedroom.

    I can hear Stewie now..."it's naughty time...oh ho...eew...yeah, that's right"
  • I could buy whatever I want regarding cards, except for maybe the $2.8 million Honus Wagner.

However, I'm a deal maker and part of the fun of collecting cards is doing deals. It's a lot less fun when you just write checks.

Additionally, I have a certain amount of money that I'm willing to invest in my hobby. Outside of that, my rule is that I must trade or sell to acquire more.

Hopefully you can understand that and not be such a skeptic.
    Blessings,

    Steve
  • I was simply offering it up to someone else who possibly wanted to learn the trade and making it easier for them to get in. Sorry about the skeptics, there are some everywhere!

    mr cook,
granted you may have the best of intentions about assisting others and to help them get wealthy. in all honesty don't you think mastering real estate is VERY difficult and full of traps for the average person. even the most intelligent of us would need to spend a long time to get to know the system. i am talking years. go back to the old cliche that if it were easy everyone would do it.

i do think that there are a few hard working, extremely dedicated and somewhat intelligent people that make a good living flipping property. just as i think that there are a few hard working, extremely dedicated and somewhat intelligent people that make a good living from amway.

at times this would be a better fit for someone with little education and perhaps a low end job. they have little downside. a person making $83,000 with a wife, child and mortgage does not have the time to do what it takes to commit to this and is certainly not going to quit his job to do it.

if anyone on this board gets into this line of money making i wish them all of the best. do i think it is a scam?-No, do i think it is a longshot that your efforts will reap you financial independence?-Yes.
