Hey Copper Guys.... Quick Question...

Do you think this coin would cross into PCGS plastic at any AU grade? It's mine and if possible I'd like to get it into PCGS to match the rest of my set. Thanks.

    Yes

  • I dont like the pock mark in the left field on the obverse, and also the lack of dentils on the right side. Will it back for the dig? I dont know. What I do know is that this coin is a real dog, and I wouldnt even care about crossing it.

Brother, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't cross.

If putting it in PCGS plastic will make you happy, then I think it has a decent shot. If you are interested in getting a sticker on the slab, then unfortunately, in my opinion, the coin will not sticker. However, there is nothing wrong with raw-slabbed coins.

That is typical from a later state die. The weak dentils is normal and will not inhibit the grade.

I think it has a great shot at an AU grade from PCGS.

The dig in the obverse field worries me a little, other than that it would AU at PCGS.

Is this what an EACer would call "scudzy" for the grade due to those hits?

So now all my slabbed coins are now raw again? image

Do not think that I would go scudzy but it is getting there. If PCGS grades that coin AU they should be shot. I had a 1916 SLQ wit a rim ding no bigger than that pot mark and not as distracting that got BB'ed.

Nope. It would fit in the "Average" category.
And I also think it would come out of PCGS as an "AU- something" image
