2000 Lincoln cent mated pair....value? Update 3/8! Pictures added....

Just bought this on eBay for too much, most likely. But I don't really care. It's really cool! (At least I think so) I'm most likely going to get it graded by NGC (too expensive for PCGS!).....What do you think it's worth?

Thanks!

In memory of the USAF Security Forces lost: A1C Elizabeth N. Jacobson, 9/28/05; SSgt Brian McElroy, 1/22/06; TSgt Jason Norton, 1/22/06; A1C Lee Chavis, 10/14/06; SSgt John Self, 5/14/07; A1C Jason Nathan, 6/23/07; SSgt Travis Griffin, 4/3/08; 1Lt Joseph Helton, 9/8/09; SrA Nicholas J. Alden, 3/3/2011. God Bless them and all those who have lost loved ones in this war. I will never forget their loss.
If you think you overspent, remember someone else wanted it for just one bid increment less, so you couldn't have gone overboard too much unless there was a shill.

That seller has done this before, he almost caught me last year with a couple of auctions with absurdly low Buy It Now values for a mated pair... but way more than anyone should pay for an off-center and an indent. Check his feedback and you might still find other sets he's sold.

They don't specify a return policy. I would try to get your money back any way you can. Did you pay with a Credit Card through Paypal?
Does not look like a genuine mated pair to me, and after seeing his other auctions, I'd wager that none of those supposed "pairs" are actually mated.

match as far as design on the obv. sides, but the
brockage indent has to match the reverse of the top
coin.
In person, the two coins need to "click" together
in most cases; in other words, they need to fit
together, and not just look like they match.
It's difficult to match these so-called Mated Pairs
from scans only, but it's easier to tell if they DON'T
match from the scans.......
Doesn't look like a match to me.

If you paid a premium over the coins as individual errors, then you should consider returning them for a refund since they were, probably honestly, listed incorrectly. Consider it a lesson learned. Also, if you are not familiar with some of the error types, you may wish to ask someone for an opinion (someone who you trust won't snipe it out from under you, of course!). Do you have a link to the listing?

<< <i>I cannot imagine how something like that gets out of the Mint.... I suppose probably in bags... Cheers, RickO >>
you're right, ricko. no way that would fit in a roll.
He gave me this excuse today:
<< <i>We have had extreme weather conditions over a foot one day in the mountain followed by severe ice storms and then more 10 inch snow falls slowing the mail delivery down considerably, I know the mail has been very slow from the Adirondack Mtns then it goes to Broadalbin and then to Albany to the processing center there your tracking number is 420 32223 9105 1501 3471 1152 1767 14. Let me know when they arrive, Thanks Thom >>
Oh, did I mention that is AFTER he sent me this on February 22!?
<< <i>The coins went out this am in the mail with another group of coins, when you get the coins you can send them back and we will sell them again and refund your money. They came out of a group of coins in a mint sewn bag and we believe they are mated pairs. >>
What a liar. I had (and am still having) a conversation with him through eBay, and it appears that if I send them back for not being what he stated he is simply going to put them back up because somebody else would want them....
A bit of advice: Don't buy from this guy.
