What to submit on 6 card freebie

What is the way to go. Do you send non-sports because they rarely have $5 specials ? How about low pop modern shiny ? Modern rookie cards to try and chase a 10 ? Vintage commons ? Vintage stars that you would be lucky to get a 4 or 5 on ?

  • I would go Koufax, Ripken, Ryan and the three non-sport. That Leaf Bonds would be tempting....it looks pretty nice in your scan.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • I was just using those cards as an example of what to send. It is more of a question of if it is free do you put in cards that you wouldn't necessarily submit for $15 a pop ?
  • It you are likely to submit the $15 cards later, then no reason not to save a couple extra bucks now.

  • Nice Sitting Bull and Hickok cards. Are you interested in selling those?

Out of all of those cards, the one that will benefit the most from grading is the 52 Law. After that, the 52 Johnson. The Koufax seems like an obvious choice, but I think only if you want it slabbed because its value won't increase much in a PSA 3 or 4 holder. The 82 Ripken looks like an 8, but since there is a shot at a 8.5 or 9, it would probably be worth it to send it in.

I don't see any real benefit to submitting any of those other cards, other than if you just wanted them slabbed.

I would think the Koufax would benefit by getting slabbed. Unless that is a wrinkle on the cap which would make it a 2.

Only if it could 4 would I send it in.

I would also grade the Hickock and Sitting Bull The Ripken despite the print dot that
I feel will keep it out of a holder Higher then a 7 would also be sent in.

Then I'd send in the Law and the kuzava.

If the Koufax does have a wrinkle/crease Id send in another 52.

The bottom line to freebies is to send in cards with high value, Cards that can be sent in
within lower tiers should not be sent in under this service.
