Rain, rain go away

So I haven't been detecting since July, just before I got married (no, it is not the wife's fault -- I have just concentrated on other things) and I got permission to detect my former realtor's turn-of-the-century house in downtown Tuscaloosa...and it has been pouring rain ALL day, from dawn to dusk with no end in sight. *Sigh*

Why is it that when you really get the itch to put the coil to the soil something impedes that from happening?

Doh.

    We're pretty soggy here, too.

Rained 2.1 inches here in the last 24 hours, but now it's gone. The ground is wet. They sky is overcast. Seems like great detecting weather to me. Hey, Great Swami (aka Lord Marcovan), got any predictions for me? You always seem to predict Steven's finds pretty well...house built around 1900, but this area of Tuscaloosa has been tromped upon for at least 175 years...

There was this weird old guy in the front yard today. The dog was barking like crazy.

The guy was walking around in the puddles, as the rain came down in torrents. He kept muttering something and looking at the rising water.

He started gathering a bunch of boards and nailing them together, and built this weird looking but enormous boat.

And then all of our pets rain out into the rain, two by two, and ran up the gangplank into his boat. A pair of deer came out of the woods and did the same thing. Then a couple of snapping turtles and a pair of 'gators from down by the river.

    Odd.

We're supposed to get two inches here today. I've been 'tecting again but haven't found anything except change.
