Home Metal Detecting

Got to go out for a while yesterday...

Searched an area that used to be the old fire station in the teens and twenties..then searched the medians between several of our downtown streets. Lastly went to our recreation center, in the past it has been good for silver, I was hoping to get some, since I was skunked up to that point...Lot;s of clad dimes and quarters...image

Sorry to hear that the 1909 wasn't a key coin but it is in pretty good condition as is the Merc.
    Nice job!

  • All this was one day...........Our recreation center was built in 1939.....and this area was really big during the war years. As a matter of fact, LM can back me up on this, you have a better chance of finding a Merc dime, than you do a silver Roosie...seems weird, but during the war years of 1939-1945 this was a major hub of activity.
