<< <i>Welcome to Atlanta where the players play

    i am lonely here.......... >>

Nah, I'm still around every once in awhile. Football ends tonight with our big spring game so I'll be on more starting tomorrow probably.

Anyways, how bout last night?! If only we could play half as good on the road as we do at home, we'd be a great team. Hopefully last night sparked somethin.
  • any thoughts on campillo's debut? With smoltz likely going into the pen, i think the rotation will need all the help it can get.

Campillo being strong was much needed. I am worried about our starting pitching, and i have to say im not thrilled with smoltz going to the pen. We have soriano and gonzolez goming back from the DL, and i think smoltz is more valuable as a 6 inning starter then moving to our already strong bullpen.

Nice to see Francoeur get some solid hits tonight.
    Jurrjens is a stud.

Good job on Huddy's part to overcome early back to back homeruns. Santana gave up a career high 12 hits.

That deal for Jair is looking better after every game he pitches!

Renteria's having a crappy year AND Jair only costs us about $400,000 this year compared to Rent's $9,000,000 salary.

Tough loss today, and with the news of smoltz being out, we need to get this streaky season going a bit more steady.

We are not dead yet, we always seem to have a midsummer slump, perhaps it just came early this year. Obviously our pitching is depleted but its not like the rest of the division is pitching lights out. We got this.

Whats going to happen with Chipper? Is he just delaying an inevitable DL stint with that quad?

I just hope he can keep himself together until the all-star break and he can get some rest. If he can make the field 5 out of 7 times, it wouldnt be ideal, but it would work for me.

  • Ressurection!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously guys, could you imagine this season without the injuries? Dear god, the NL East would be completely different......

    Smoltz........hurt
    Hudson.......now hurt
    Glavine........hurt
    Hampton.....what a surprise, hurt
    Chipper........amazing season, while hurt
    Diaz.............hurt
    Francouer........horrible season

.....and yet we're 6 games back?

I think it's pretty safe to say that just Frenchy having a typical season and Smoltz being healthy would = more than 6 wins.
  • Sure has been frustrating. Lose 2 of 3 to Nats, then win 2 of 3 in Fla.

Hell is now asking for your old winter coats and blankets, Hampton completed an inning.

Let's hope he can make it through tomorrow! This season is getting depressing though. My dad used to always tell me stuff like " You know they used to be HORRIBLE right?" but I'd never believe him.....now I'm unfortunately getting a taste of it. One question though.....When does Chuck James get the return call to ATL?

    Disabled List
    J. Smoltz 60-day DL
    M. Acosta 15-day DL
    C. Jones 15-day DL
    M. Diaz 15-day DL
    P. Moylan 60-day DL
    T. Hudson 15-day DL
    T. Glavine 15-day DL

    YUCK

At least we dont havent lost 10,000 games.

Next year should be very interesting. I have a feeling their will be a lot of new faces.

  • Cant watch them anymore this year, gave another one away.

  • << <i>OK...Ok...I will go out on the limb....Hampton will win 15 games this year and not have any major injuries! He will probably have some weird something that may cause him to miss a few starts....but after the season is over, it will be considered a good year for him!!!

BTW.....I reserve the right to laugh at, taunt, make fun of or completely criticize myself in 3rd person if he blows out his arm in spring training! image >>

WOW....whoever the idiot was that said all that mess was REALLY wrong!!! image

Ok, here is what i would like to see happen for next year's roster.

    resign smoltz as closer
    let Glavine go
keep hampton if it is dirt cheap

    Sign 2 of the following 4 Odalis perez/aj Burnett/Ben Sheets/Jon Garland
If we go for sheets we will need to save money elsewhere, like having one of the young guys play centerfield next year.
    Sign Dunn for Left field.
