I would encourage active bidding since I like to see action, but it is hard for me to help people spend a lot of money on something that should be shiny new and minty from a mint of modern technology -- a quarter from last year for crying out loud.

If I get an offer I am happy with, I will let that person know that we have a deal on the coin ... (snip) ... I will not counter-offer anyone.
You're asking people to bid blind on what I presume is a five-figure coin?? They take all the risk of overbidding, and you have no commitment to deliver even if they are the highest of the bids? I can think of a few other reasons why you might do this too, but they're also pretty cynical.
If people bid blindly on a coin sight-unseen, I am sorry people, but wake up -- THAT IS BUYING THE PLASTIC. Why? Because you are willing to pay for that particular slab with that particular label. The proof is, he could not sell that for anywhere's near as much if it was out of the plastic. My lord, coins have become more of a commodity than ever before, this is disturbing. I think if we magically took off everyone's plastic and all everyone had were raw coins, that would be the true essense of your collection, and what it was worth.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for posting the pictures. I put them together into one file so it would be easier for those interested to do a side by side comparison of the obverses and reverses. Unfortunately I can't post the composite photo from my computer at work (I'll do it from home this evening).

Do I know the difference between a 67 and 68? Yes. Is the 68 worth a 10x ~ 100X premium over the 67? IMHO no. Am I "anti-modern"? No. I just don't think the differences between a legitimate 67 and a legitimate 68 (modern, classic, colonial, ancient or otherwise) is worth that kind of premium.
And since there is a higher probability that the status of a pop 1 relatively new modern coin could change to it becoming a pop 2 or 4 or 6 coin (better odds than for most classic coins) it would make me even less likely to pay a significant premium for what might be the temporary status of being owner of the pop 1 coin.
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

Sight-unseen bidding generally results in lower offers-right?; my loss then
Perhaps Dennis or others might have bid higher if I set it up differently; my loss then

Heh, Braddick, are you also frozen stiff in awe over Ebay auctions with no pics or what.
