I am trying to complete a 7181 DANSCO of UNC American Silver Eagles.

Thanks to all that have contacted me...I have found all but one of the dates I need..thanks!

    With silver about $17.20 what is a fair price?

    With spot value of 90% coin silver being approximately what you quoted,

    bearing in mind that we are speaking of a Troy Ounce (1 & 1/10 oz or 30.8 grams of PURE Silver)

    IMHO I'd say we're probably looking at about $21 or so apiece, (minimum).

    The market price of +/-$17.20/oz is for a troy ounce. So technically a ASE is $17.20 worth of silver.

    However, given 2 objects, lets say one is a lump of .999 fine silver in blob form, and the other is an ASE, which would you choose at the same asking price? Therefore, a $2 premium added to spot is very fair regarding ASE's.

    Exactly!! A blob of silver wasn't transformed into an ASE by wishing or levitation; there was work and effort and expense involved. Thats why I was asking how close to spot is acceptable.

    They said [if you reread the post] that they didn't expect to get the 96 at anything close to spot; $60 or so is a more likely price.

    The Big Boys as I call 'em are asking 56 cents above spot for raw one oz bars. For an eagle $1.58 above spot, In coin world $2.20. In shows, I've seen $2.50 plus. Quality now, that's something else! I've bought toned eagles way below spot!

    For even $2 over spot its almost a waste of time to fill an order like this. Buy a monster box of 500 and sell em $2 over spot 2-3 coins at a time mail order and you'll get my drift real quick.
