new house.. in the near future

well we are looking at a new house ande we might get it sooner than planned, well some information aout it is: it was built in 1900 (it was the second house built in Menan) so i was wodnerign where should i look to metal detect????

    Not knowing anything about the lot, I would check first around the foundation, then the back corners of the lot (where kids were likely to go), either side of the front walk, and any area of the yard that may have been used recreatioanally (i.e. picnic, horseshoes etc). Cheers, RickO

    the hosue has been in the family since it was built by the current residents grandparents or great grandparents
  • Since the house was built in 1900, it could have had a fence around it. I would look to see if there are any fence posts or signs of them that might still be there. Lots of stories about how folks didn't trust banks in those days and buried their coins in the ground. Ken...The MDH.

    thanks ken i will look for those, it wont be until spring or summer until i can detect around it. but any suggestions would help?

  • since its been ion the family since it was built i would talk to the current owners...ask about the histiry of the place and people...ask about dumps and outhouses etc.etc.....they will know best....hh

    Also, you might wanna figure out where the clothesline might have been.
