need some advice

I purchased a card from a seller in England on Jan 21(boxing card) and I haven't received it yet.I figure since its international it would take a little longer but how long should I wait before filing anything with ebay.I emailed yesterday & haven't heard anything yet.I also bought one Jan 24 from another seller(hockey) and emailed 3 times & still no response. How long do you guys wait?

    Hi Lou

My threshhold of pain is 30 days - with a reminder in about 3 wks.

If I hear nothing after a month - I file with paypal and get my money back.

Sorry to hear about your trouble - good luck.

  • coming from England or Canada, I usually wait about 3 weeks before I get nervous or email them.
Mail going both ways can take anywhere from 3 days to a month, after 30 days with no response from the seller , I file a claim. Just had 1 package I sent to Canada on jan 14 was dlvd Feb 2.
the longest time for me on a package was priority mail it took 67 days and then was returned to me because the buyer no longer needed it. Of course it looked like a truck had ran over it.

    the mail is screwy!

to be honest with you, I would just be patient. I live in England with an APO address and I have waited up to 6 weeks before. some times the post office is a bit slow, and all depends on what he sent it in.

I am not as patient as most - if you emailed and get no reply - nothing wrong with filing with paypal to motivate a conversation with the seller - jsut my opinion - swartz1

I'm in the same boat as I bought a card from England and paid on Jan 22 but still no card. I figured shipping internationally would be a crapshoot so I was going to give him one more week before the status update email gets sent out to him. I have ordered others from England and wouldn't worry yet.

The hold up is always in customs. Be patient. It's tough buying and selling to/from UK.

I mail things to a friend in UK 4-5 times a year. It can take anywhere from 7 days and one time it even took 2 months!
  • I wouldn't worry about them not getting back to their emails fast, some people are very bad communicators, and sometimes don't ever respond to their emails.

If international, I would definetly wait 30 days before taking drastic measures. And for US, I would wait like 20 days, but i'm sure its just another case of slow shippers, and bad communication, but you should get everything just fine.

You will have more positive transactions on ebay than not, maybe some will be slower than others, but you will still get your stuff, and could call it a positive trasaction I guess. A negative is when you don't receive anything ot like a month later image

    Hope everything works out! image

  • I have had very good luck with shipping from the UK. From both ebay sellers and online stores alike. 5 shipments total with the max delivery time taking 7 business days. My most recent showed up 3 business after i paid via paypal. I was shocked at that one.

Depends on the way it was sent, Arthur had a problem one time and that is what happened.

    Good for you.
  • Heck, Im still waiting on cards from US sellers I paid for on the 21st.....
  • I've bought many cards from England, and usually receive them within 10 days. However, I did win a card on 1/25 that I have yet to receive. Maybe the mail is just a little slower than normal. My card is from a trusted seller I have purchased from before, so I would not worry about your card just yet.

Mail is somewhat inconsistant in my experience. Email the seller and politely express your concern. Be persistant. If no return communication, file paypal after a week of no communication.

    Good luck!
