Exactly!
The people that support Clemens are mostly just yankee fans that refuse to believe that any of their heroes are anything less than gods..truly pathetic. They believe that they are better than everyone else and any yankee is the best ever and anyone who isn't is garbage. Then they wonder why the rest of us despise them so much.

A jealous, whiney Yankees hater at their finest! I love it!
Personally, I have NEVER said that there was no way that Clemens took steroids. The probability of it is much greater than the probability of him not.
What I do say is that whether McNamee has credibility with ANY player, it does not mean everything the guy says is the gospel. He is a rapist and a drug dealer for God's sake! When did we start trusting them?
It was a huge mistake by Mitchell and his crew to name any player they did not have a paper trail or any other sort of proof on.
There were so many players in the late 80s and 90s that were juicing. I feel for the guys that are taking the brunt of this fiasco. Some of the guys named will never be pulled in any further than the Mitchell report. You cant have a few guys be paying for the sins of every player that juiced.
Roger Clemens is probably the best thing that has happened to Barry Bonds since he hit his drug induced #73. When was the last time you heard Bonds name on ESPN or saw it on a website.................................or better yet in the Mitchell report.........oh, yea, I forgot, it wasn't in there.

<< <i>Looks like it's over for Clemens, if Petite does back up Macnamee's story then what else is left to say? >>
Agreed...guess we'll see what way this one goes. If Clemens is guilty and it is founded, it was a VERY dumb move on his part to take it as far as he has. He could have shown some class and fessed up like Pettitte. But, the jury is still out so we'll see!

Andy's about as honest a guy that you will find. If he is saying that MacNamee's story is true, then Roger is guilty in my book. I would believe Andy Pettite before I believed Roger Clemens, but to each his own.
But do MacNamee's and Pettitte's stories coincide? You can bet their recollections will be quite different. In that case, MacNamee may be telling some truths with a lot of stretching. Does this make him reliable? I dont know if partially reliable is good enough when it comes to accusations as serious as these.
And if Rocket is telling the truth, McNamee better get some rope for his soap.

Pettitte told Congress Clemens admitted to using human growth hormone Feb. 12, 2008 CBSSports.com wire reports
WASHINGTON -- Roger Clemens told Yankees teammate Andy Pettitte nearly 10 years ago that he used human growth hormone, Pettitte said in a sworn affidavit to Congress, the Associated Press learned Tuesday.

Pettitte disclosed the conversation to the congressional committee holding Wednesday's hearings on drug use in baseball, a person familiar with the affidavit said. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the document had not been made public.
According to the person familiar with the affidavit, who said it was signed Friday night, Pettitte also said Clemens backtracked when the subject of HGH came up again in conversation in 2005, before the same House committee held the first hearing on steroids in baseball.
Pettitte said in the affidavit that he asked Clemens in 2005 what he would do if asked by the media about HGH, given his admission years earlier. According to the account told to the AP, the affidavit
said Clemens responded by saying Pettitte misunderstood the previous exchange in 1999 or 2000 and that, in fact, Clemens had been talking about HGH use by his wife in the original conversation.
It's going to be interesting how this plays out. I feel bad for both Andy and Roger. The whole HGH/steroids thing stinks. I love baseball, and hate to see guys get caught up in having to take this stuff to continue to perform.
Anyway, Roger's biggest miscalculation "may" turn out to be Andy's loyalty to his God. What a tough spot for Andy to be in. He has his best friend possibly make a mistake, but he has to stay true to his beliefs.

Yep everyone quit speculating and take down those "X team's march to the world series" threads and just wait until the season is over before posting. Unbridled and unrestrained speculation is what makes the internet so much fun.
