PSA Rejection

I just had two cut signatures returned from PSA as ?Auth. For $150 all I got was a label that said ?Auth. No letter detailing their reasons. I called and they said if you choose encapsulation you forgo the letter. How are you supposed to know ahead of time whether or not your submission will qualify for one or the other? They should supply you with their reasons even if you choose encapsulation. It seems like such a rip-off. I don't think they even took my cuts out of the holder. Personally, I still think the autographs might be real. I am not really interested in selling, I just thought they would look better in a PSA holder. I have other cuts that may or may not be real, but I won't be sending them to PSA. I am going to try sending them to JSA. They have to have better customer service than PSA.

If your issue is brought forward in good faith,
simply post scans of the two autos with the PSA/DNA
    rejection labels.

If you do not do that, most folks will assume you are just
    a lame basher.

I don't understand the hostile attitude either, but there are some sharp autograph collectors on this board who would be interested in seeing what you sent to PSA/DNA for our own edification...your experience is one my main beefs with the authentication game...you pay $150 for a service and if they say it's not good then you're out the $150. At that level you sent in some pretty big names.

Please post the scans or if you don't want to go public PM me and I'll send you my email address if you'd rather do it privately.

    graypoet55,

Another route you might consider if you wish to sell them and not have to pay for authenticating them, just send them to Bob Eaton of R&R Enterprises in New Hampshire. He is a PSA/DNA authenticator and if they are authentic, he will list them in his monthly catalog auctions, and for the really nice ones, will include PSA/DNA authentication. If they are not authentic, he'll just send them back. You can see their website at

Click here to go to R&R Enterprises site

He is one of the leading dealers in historical autographs. I have consigned over $100,000 worth of stuff through him the past few years and have generally always been pleased with the return. He even gave me a special section in his April 2005 catalog called "The Mike Navarro collection" where I sold an entire Presidential run and if you have some nice stuff, he'll cut you some special consignment deals. He can be reached at 1-800-937-3880, and if you go that route, please tell them that Mike Navarro sent you.

Take care and best wishes whatever you decide, if you post some scans, I can probably help you in at least weeding out obvious fakes,

  • As far as the letter goes, my experience with JSA has not been that great. On a rejected item, you get a form letter saying what "might" have been the issue -- and it goes on forever. Don't feel bad that you didnt get a letter - it probably would not have told you anything specific to your autograph, anyway.

When 3+ year alias, who rarely posts, creates a PSA bashing thread, you expect a warm welcome?

No scans, no names, no details (other than how much he paid), nothing...

Just hate and calling their service a "rip-off".

jimmy wasnt present when the whole sal bando thing occured. he wasnt even in the same state. it was another guy working for him. also i dont want to get into a whole thing about it but the news reporter had a real one then a fake one. she showed the authenticator the real one & then got the fake one & a real one stickered by another jsa employee. also sal bando was signing 10 ft away!

they still authenticated a fake auto so theres no excuse.

i'm not going to argue with anyone on here about this. thats what happened believe me or not.

wheres the pics??????? hey gumby put em up

still it was his organization like kevin said, i got my fact straight just fine, you just posted it ?his organazation,i dont care who did it, i remember reading that spence appologized for it, i dont know if he did it or one of his guys, dont realy care to tell ya the truth

if they were military i could tell you in a heartbeat, if they were sports, people on here could tell, but mark twain ,hemmingway, herman melville and people like that,i would have no clue, and that prob goes for 99% of us here
  • No offense here, and maybe my knowledge of auto certifiers is weak, but why would you send auto's of famous authors to "professional SPORTS authenticators." There has to be a company that specializes in the auto's of authors or non-sports. Maybe I'm wrong though.
