Pippen may have been the second-best player of the 1990s?
IMO Pippen was the best defensive player in the 90's and one of the better finishers of that time, but not one of the better clutch shooters and refusing to return to the floor in that playoff game really hurts how people look at his career.
Just like nearly all the recent "greatest of all-time" lists, they load up on too many cards released in this current decade. They list some 2003-04 card #4 all time while having Chamberlain's RC (which is what really belonged at #4) all the way down to #15!? Now I can understand why many here think Beckett is a joke...
<< <i>LOL, the NBA 50 Greatest players were picked by people from the NBA and so on, but that 50 greatest Basketball card thing was made up probably by 12 and 13 year olds, like somebody mentioned earlier, LOL, or those guys from Beckett alone?

If you read my post, I am not refering to who chose the list, but rather how the list is presented in no particular order of relevance or importance. The NBA 50 list did not say Jordan was better than Chamberlain or West, it just said these are the 50 best.
I have quite a few cards on the list. As a part time basketball collector I just cant get the fact that the Lebron Exquisite rc is on any type of list because it is numbered to 99.
I do believe the 89 Robinson is one of the bigger releases that helped the basketball card industry. Sad thing is I have bought boxes of that set and paid .01 for the boxes and $12 for the shipping. Way more than I could sell a Robinson rookie for, now there are taking up space in my closet unripped.
No one can deny 86-87 Fleer is in the top 5 sets released in all of sports in the 80's. That many rookies and future HOFers in one set makes it golden.
