I just got one back that has die polish that makes it looked cleaned. I am not sure what percentage of the lines are die polish, but there are definitely many. There are shadows around the stars and near the devices in most areas. I suspect this is due to striking a few coins and the heavier metal flow going into the devices and stars smoothing out the die in the field near this. In a month, when they finally post the TruViews, I will post it to show what it shows. It has very nice cartwheel and luster, but sure shows the die polish (and hairline cleaning?).
You just bumped a thread from the dead (2008). Nonetheless, can you please post a full obverse and reverse photo? The close-up photos do not help too much.
even for an old thread, i'll say, there are A LOT of cleaned coins in tpg holders. proof, ms, pattern etc.
when i started learning early proofs, i was ASTONISHED at the amount of 61, 62, 63 grades that held the coins back ONLY because they had PLS.
it is one FINE line where some coins have PLS all over obv/rev BUT then you have pristine unc/gem coins that have just one little spot that someone worked on for whatever reason that gets detailed. i've seen it a lot and even had a couple.
When I saw the images in the OP, my mind immediately went to "cleaned". I suspect line pattern influences the impression regarding cleaning versus pocket wear, and perhaps lighting for the photo can give the appearance of primarily parallel lines. I shared a similar example in a post several months ago, and there was a nice discussion regarding die polish lines and the involvement of devices. This is an interesting discussion and a challenging problem in such a nice coin-- thanks for sharing...
When I first looked at the OP's pics, my thoughts were "yeah, it looks scrubbed", but I'd like to see it in hand before condemning it. But I would suggest sending it back for variety attribution (DDR FS-801) if he cared about varieties. Then I looked at the date of the original post...jeesh!!!, never mind!!!

There are not many die polish trade dollar threads, but this one is pertinent.

auction it! the coin is a commercially graded piece. not horrible. seen much worse
This coin belongs in a cleaned holder. No way that many hairlines should be in a straight grade holder.
