Survey: Which box should I buy from BBCE

I'm thinking of going for a box from 1970's football and I cannot decide which year, I want them all. I'd like to hit maybe ONE real nice rookie but mainly I am looking to have a boat load of fun. I don't expect all mint cards or anything. More chances at a rookie would make it funner for me though. If it were you which year would you guys buy and why? And if you've busted any of these please tell of what and how you did. Thanks.

If you want a big RC then the 76 is the way to go (Payton). 75 has several good RCs (Fouts, Swann, Theismann, Blount, Bleier, etc..) so you're pretty much guaranteed a couple decent hits. 78 is good but condition is a bear on them. 77 is ok, but way overpriced compared to what the big cards bring (Largent, Payton, Selmon...). 79 is boring. 74 and 73 pretty much blow in terms of RCs, and 72, 71, and 70 are way too expensive.

In terms of bang for your buck, my list would be:

    1) 1976
    2) 1975
    3) 1977

I'll second Meteroite Guy--go for '78. My last batch of '78 packs from Steve yielded high quality...
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12

Stay away from 74, center and tilting are horred througout. Agreed with others that 75 or 76 is a good choice.

Can you afford to do one each of 1977, 1978, 1979? Originally I was going to just go back to 1980 (birth year) for football; convince me that I should go back another three years by letting us see a nice break of all three. image

Hmmm.....I would buy a stack of wax trays. I believe that BBCE has 78 and 79 wax trays and 80 wax rack packs. I've had good luck w/ those.
