Did the Colts get caught looking ahead to the Pats?

I'm sure they would never admit it but I think that was a factor in the game. How can you have two weeks to prepare and put on
such a bad performance? Oh well, it just happens sometimes.

Look for Dungy to retire, possibly as soon as this week, if so this will be the most attractive NFL coaching job to open up this season as
the Colts are still a good team,

Or did Peyton just take a year off from being a postseason "choker" and revert to back his old form?

I think it was probably a combination of the week off and the fact that the Chargers have been red hot. Although, getting beat by San Diego's B Team offense doesn't look too good.

Or did the Dallas Cowboys look past both NFC games and figure they were already looking forward to playing the Patriots in the Super Bowl? I'm almost not kidding.

Were the Colts clearly better than the Chargers? I don't see the Chargers victory as a huge upset.

Same thoughts for Giants beatin the boys. Dallass was not that good to begin with.

I agree about Dallas. I don't think they were a great team towards the end. Still a very good one, but not a great one and certainly play like leading up to the playoffs.

Regarding Colts, I thought Manning played very well all things considered. You can't really hang that game on him. I thought the defense failed them and the Chargers played like the Ravens against the Pats, like they had nothing to lose. Of course, they paid the price for that victory as well with all the injuries.

You've got to be kidding. 400+ yards and three touchdowns, two interceptions that hit his own receivers hands first. That's some choke job.

The defense let them down, giving up more points than they had all year, and against a Charger team without Rivers and Tomlinson most of the second half.

Let's not forget. The Chargers were 14-2 last year and at that time one of the most talented teams in football. Now that they've realed off 8 straight wins after a slow start, maybe they are indeed better than most of us give them credit for.

The Colts are the second youngest team in football, I'm sure we haven't heard the last of them.
  • Manning played better against the Chargers than in every playoff game from last year. The defense played worse in this game than in three out of the four playoff games from last year. Yet people even have to ask who from that team choked?

I wasn't trying to imply that Manning choked. I didn't think he was a choker before. It was more of a rhetorical question, geared at those who thought he was a choker prior to last year.

I think San Diego just played alot better than expected...

Turning the ball over near your opponents 20 yard line does not help matters, but thats why they lost- not because of being overconfident IMO.
