Coin Collecting Software

I am interested in programming a coin collecting software of some sort. Does anyone have a great software idea that I could implement?

Thanks,
Joseph

  • I think I will make a coin collecting software that organizes your coin collection and prices your coins. I will create it not just for Windows users, but for Mac and Linux too. The software will be free of charge. If anyone likes this idea let me know.

I still don't know of anything that can beat Heritage's "My Collection". It's free, and superb for maintaining an off-site record of your collection. Customizable, printable, etc.

    Good stuff . . .

I use Coin Manage from Liberty Street, I love it, cannot say enought good things about it. It is the only software I have used, so nothing to judge it by, but It plugged right in and did what it sys it soes. The support was also excellent thru email.

I was able to pick up Coin Manage. It works well. You can look at it if you want to get some ideas for your program if you want.

I have a new Mac, and an old Filemaker Pro. I don't know if the old software will work on my new machine with Leopard. I don't need anything fancy, but I do want the table format.

I use Coin Elite... as do many others.... it seems quite complete... I would suggest reviewing that package for some ideas... Cheers, RickO

I would suggest something that works on a Blackberry, so I can take it to shows and have a full reference right there with me.

I need access to what I have in my collection, what I have on my buy list, which includes a "goal grade" to buy and what prices I'm willing to pay vs. guide prices.

I just use Excel spreadsheet and find it quite usable.

For those who use coin s/w - what do you feel are the advatages? Are any trends automatically updated?
