80-D Jefferson. Do you need 5 or 6 steps with Pcgs in 1980? I haven't tried to certify anything newer than 64.

I don't think it'll FS, but I'm no Jefferson expert.
  • 2 hits on the bottom steps will , i think keep it from the FS desig. maybe though, i have seen less steps with the FS desig. than this coin. Good luck

my understanding is that PCGS requires 5 Full Steps prior to 1990, with no pre/post contact marks, bridges between steps or incompleteness permitted-----although they tend to be very lenient and subjective on a coin-by-coin basis from what i see in FS holders. while the coin pictured shows almost a complete fifth step line and parts of the sixth step line from the strike, i doubt it would be designated as FS.
  • this one won't make it due to the hits on the fifth step. as far as i know, fs designation is for 5 steps, regardless of the date.
