bait & switch e-bay shipping charges

I purchased a cheap (EUR 15) item from a seller in France. Shipping charges were listed
as EUR 5 to United States. The invoice states EUR 10 for shipping. I pointed out the
descripency and requested a corrected invoice and received the same invoice
again written in French.
Should I just pay it or is there somewhare I can report this for changing the fee ?
Thanks

how are you going to pay?

if sending - just send copy of auction page - circle win price and ship to USA price

PAYPAL link from auction has shipping listed price

Is this a PayPal purchase? If so, if the shipping was listed as 5 Euros, then using eBay checkout instead of the seller's own sent invoice would show that on the payment page. I'd use that and if the seller balks and returns your money, I doubt they could hit you with an NPB.

  • Here is a link. e-bay

These are thought to be stolen property so I was purchasine one to get contact info for the original seller.
I plan to pay by PayPal credit card for my protection but shipping comes up as EUR 10 also.

The terms and conditions window show it's 10 Euros to the U.S.:

    Outside of European Community :
You have to add 10 euros for Shipping and handling in registered mail (coins)and 20 euros for the books
    Send the paiement to...

I would just pay it and make the 5 eur correction on the paypal payment page myself. He will then have to refund if he doesn't like it. Thus you've paid and he's responsible for shipping. --Jerry

edit: oops looks like you missed the fine print.
  • Thanks I guess I did. I only read EUR 5 to United States. No big deal just didn't want to be misled.

I do see it. But I also think the seller can point to the fine print. Just goes to show that it's important to read that stuff (and scroll down to the part in English)!

It's either mistaken or intentionally misleading in any event. The funny thing is that in the calculator, entering one shows "$5.00 + $5.00", whereas entering two lists "$5.00 + Free". Makes no sense.
