Is this true, First buy will have more chances of 70's

I went to buy some coins. The sales man told me that these coins are ordered from the Us Mint at the first minute when thay start selling. He also told me that if submitted for grading when ordered first will have more chances of getting 70's. Is this true. why will there be difference when ordering first or last as all of them are produced by the Mint.

It's called hype. I think he was talking BS to make a sale.

Didn't you know his coins are the best?

Logic says, early die strikes would provide the best results for a "perfect" coin.

Not sure how the Mint ques the sets.

I would think fifo would apply here....anyone not agree????

Just because a person can order early does not mean they are getting coins minted first.

    The sales man was FOS.

The mint has stated they do not use FIFO (First In First Out). They have made it clear there is no way of knowing if you get an early strike or not.

If nothing else, you may get better quality early because you won't be backordered and eventually get someone else's returns.

First strike just mean early delivery (shipped within the first 30 days).

He is feeding you a line of BS.... That being said, it can be logically accepted that coins from a new die 'may' be better.. but there are other factors... first of all, dies are changed several times during a run (die life), second... there may, and can be, planchet variances (hardness, composition - not a large effect, but possible)... so, coins from the middle of a run can be 'first strike' from a new die... the mint does not track these in any way (missing a good marketing ploy IMO..).
