FedEX Suxs !!!

Check this out:

Here's the Fedex Tracking for my Plats. Please note it was "on the vehicle for delivery" last Saturday. My brother got his and my dad got his. I didn't. After calling, apparently the Fedex guy didn't have time to delivery my package. Although I guess it was OK for me to sit home and wait until about 4:30, which is when I found out the package was back at the Fedex facility, atleast an hour before !!!

Now it's Monday. No package yet. I called and got a ETA. 3:30 they say !!!. Which is to say, it will be delivered today. It could be in 2 minutes or it could be 4 hours. Counting Saturday and today, assuming it gets delivered, I pretty much spent 2 full days waiting for Fedex out of my 4 days off. Needless to say... image

  • I live in the country, and its tough for me to get home to meet the FedEx truck. I call the 800 number amd ask them to have the facility hold the item.... tyen I pick it up when the facility opens or at my convenience. This has worked well and has saved me countless waitng / driving hours,

keep a bedpan handy.. if you live alone and Fedex shows up and you're in the john, when they knock or ring you'll either be in one freaking embarassing situation (screaming "Wait! Wait! hold on! i'm in the bathroom! don't go away!").. or after you've done your duty you'll come out to find a door tag since this package absolutely requires a signature.. just got mine.. Fedex is bulging at the seams with Xmas packages so it's really slowing them down and messing up their usual Swiss-watch delivery schedule..

Nope, it was on the truck for delivery on Saturday. After calling them, it was verified, at 3PM the guy went home, quiting time.

any time you place any order of over $300.00 worth of product from The Mint, they automatically upgrade your order to Fedex Priority Overnight.. so do NOT pay for "Expedited Delivery" if your order is over $300.00.. you'll be throwing money away..

They are not working 12 hours. The delivery truck left the facility around 8 or 9 AM and my package was scanned again at 4PM, so he got back around 3PM. Hardly 12 hours, more like 7 or 8. They are just lazy bums, at my job, if the job isn't done, you stay until it is done. I guess we all can't be Fedex drivers and quit when we've had enough.

But beyond that, it says scheduled for delivery on Dec. 22. Don't say that unless it's going to be delivered !!

    1PM Still waiting.

Got mine at 10:15am.......my FedEx guy is always within 10 minutes of that time.

Not to mention he's super friendly and states my first name whenever he delivers!!!

Good luck, aficionado.....they're on the way I'm sure!!! image

I've never had any luck with Fed Ex. They've never delivered when I was home and if I have to go pick it up, the facility is nearly an hour from my house. I cringe whenever someone ships Fed Ex to me.
  • I would tend to have more patience in this situation. I know you are so Excited to get your package, along with millions of others at this time. The guy probably has a family and needs to take his wife/kids to see his extended family "grandparents, aunts/uncles". I'm sure they re doing thier best during this busy season. Look at the POSITIVE, you were supposed to get it on 12-31. Have a happy holiday and you'll be happy on Wednesday. I'd call and ask if you can pick it up like mentioned above.

  • I don't think the mint paid for Saturday Delivery. If you got it on Sat, it was a bonus and the FedEx guys were doing a nice thing. Lotsa holiday spirit here.

my last year at Fedex, Christmas weeks, I worked 12 hour days, every day...usually you cant go home until all scheduled deliveries are made...and dont count on customer service to tell you where the driver is....they wouldnt know if he left for the day or not, they can only trace packages for you.

I get regular deliveries from FedEx (and pickups, too) and I've never had a problem. Also, the local FedEx folks (both male and female) carry biscuits on their truck which makes my German Shepherd very happy. I just open the front door and he flies down the driveway up into their truck to get fed.

Well it was delivered at 2PM.

All total I waited, here in my house, not going anywhere for 14 HOURS !!!! 8 Hours Saturday (because the tracking said it was out for delivery), and 6 Hours today, until 2PM.

    F- fedex !!!

I "luckily" got it to the Post Office (PCGS), before they closed, at 3PM. Like that's going to help. You know it's not going anyplace until Wed., when it should have been on its way Saturday at 11 AM..

I normally take things in stride, but the 'out for delivery' that turned into a 'nevermind'. Just set me off.

And the guy didn't work 12 hours, it's documented. In his truck at 9am and out of his truck at 3:30pm. He was sipping beers, laughing it up, while I was looking out the window everytime I heard a possible truck pull up, thinking the guy was actually doing his job.

  • Wow, sounds like a little kid whining......Me Me ME ME! Give the Fed-Ex guys a break, they are working harder than any of us are these days. Just because it was on a truck from 8-3 doesn't mean that's the shift the person worked. You know, those packages have to be placed on the trucks as well, they don't just appear there.

Sorry YOU wasted 14 hours of YOUR life waiting on the FedEx delivery.

    Dude, get a clue.

Driver DON'T sort packages. I used to work at UPS. The shift started at 3am. After the Semi's are unloaded, the delivery trucks are loaded, when that is done, the drivers arrive and inspect how good of a job you did loading their truck.

Something I forgot to add, the facility is 15 minutes up the road. I would have been there and back with my package in half an hour, if they didn't drive all over town with it.

AND I live about 100 feet from the main road that leads to hundred or thousands of houses. That is the only road to get back there. So, there is NO WAY that truck didn't pass within 100 feet of my house. They were just to damn lazy to put in a little effert.

    Anyway, I'm done with this.

And one more thing, F - Fedex !!

Merry Christmas to all. (that are not Fedex employees.)

my regular UPS driver who has been on this route for a thousand years once told me that their drivers get paid based on how many packages they deliver each day.. or more accurately, that they get a base hourly pay and then additional money per package delivered.. (he didn't tell me how much per package, and i didn't ask..) .. kind of like a waitress makes minimum wage, and more than half her salary is tips.. so it behooves a waitress to give good service, and it behooves a UPS driver to bust ass and deliver as many packages a day as he can.. which is why you always see UPS delivery guys running like a bat out of Hell.. true? false?.. (while USPS letter carriers are civil servants on a flat salary, so they can take as long as they want to do their daily route, regardless of how much or how little mail they have to deliver each day).. if Fedex operates the same way as UPS, then it would not be to a driver's benefit to return to the terminal with un-delivered packages still on his truck, n'est pas?.. besides, with Priority Overnight and whatever UPS' next day service is called, and even with USPS Express mail, if a parcel isn't delivered the next day, the shipper gets his money back..

the Mint must have some kind of sweet deal with Fedex to be able to charge customers $4.95 for Priority Overnight.. try walking into a Kinkos / Fedex and telling the clerk you want to send an Overnight envelope for $4.95 and see how long s/he laughs..

What an attitude for Chrismas. God bless you and everyone here including Fed-X employees who did what they were suppose to do deliver your package. Chill out this time of year thing just take longer. More people shopping; more people traveling; more traffic and with the snow and blowing we just had about 12 people die in this horible mid-west weather. I would wait another month if it would bring back all or some of the travelers going to meet their families for Christmas.

Again, chill dude and Merry Christmas to everyone here!

  • drivers load their own trucks...no union to say they cant do both...in fact some drivers also unload the containers that come in from the airport BEFORE they load up their trucks, with sometimes hundreds of packages....they unload, load and sometimes drive hundreds of miles in one day, especially in rural areas...

That is not right, you should get your f-ing shipping refunded. You can put in a complaint to your local fedex office and state that the contents of the package was a x-mas present it was due today at 10:30am you guys dropped the ball/my package. furthermore your company made me look like a fool.

When you get the refund, buy yourself a cup of coffee, maybe a donut and tell yourself Fedex suks, Fedex Suks, Fedex Suks. Happy Christmas

yeah.. maybe if his issue of "Crescent Wrench Monthly" or his package from the "Jelly of the Month Club" was late.. but when a $2000.00 package tracks as being on a truck on its way to you and you know you have to sign for it or open the door and see the dreaded "Sorry we missed you" tag flapping in the breeze.. because you live alone and dared go to the bathroom for a while.. and the next day is a Holiday.. well i'd be twisting my knickers too wondering what was going on.. but i guess two grand is chump change to a lotta people around here..
i can totally see his point, as i've spent many a day sitting around waiting for a package that i knew i had to sign for, knowing that if i jumped in the car and raced to the store to get some smokes or some food, i'd come home to a door tag and have to go through the same nonsense again the next day.. i might let a neighbor sign for a package for me if it was nuthin' special.. but two grand worth of Platinum.. uh-uh..

  • On the 22nd, when your package was back at the FedEx facility (15 minutes away), you may have been able to go there and pick it up. You have to call first and make sure your package is accesible. I have done this before at the San Fernando Rd. location in Los Angeles. I believe it was when packages had arrived there too late to be put out for delivery the same day and I did not want to be tied up the following day in order to sign for them.

I have had 1 problem with Fedex and that was 3 weeks ago. Ordered a color laserjet from HP directly, was put on Fedex and I watched it. I watched it sit "on truck for delivery" for almost 3 days.
Day 1 I saw it, I wasn't home anyway...figured I would get the slip and go in the next day. Nope. No slip. No attempt.
Day 2 I tried waiting at home for it, decided to call.....they said it would be attempted before 5pm or else give a call. Nope. No attempt.
Day 2 evening I called and was told that they would attempt 1 more time before sending it back. I lit into her as I had already said there had be NO attempts yet.
I was told I could call a different number and get my fees back I paid for it (but, HP had a free shipping deal...so, I didn't even try).
I gave instructions to leave it on my doorstep, no signature required, and I was already quite upset.
Day 3, 8am, it was delivered and left.

Driver is lucky he sprinted out of here before I got to the door as I think it was the same one who had it sitting IN HIS TRUCK for 3 days!

Overall, however, I have nothing but good experiences with fedex and won't complain...am hoping this was an isolated instance.

Now....UPS, today, is on my nerves (that's a different thread.....)

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • IT WAS SENT FOR MONDAY DELIVERY!!! You got it on time and for what you paid, FedEx was trying to be nice by delivering on Saturday. jeez

I hate waiting for fedex, cable repair men, carpet cleaners or anything else. I understand the OPs frustration and don't think he deserves the crap he got.

What I did to fix this problem was get a private mail box. this also keeps potential thieves from seeing you recieve registered or other expensive looking packages. No shipper gets my home address anymore.

Of the FedEx shipments I sent last week more than half were delayed or late and one package (Mountain View, CA to Austin, TX) is still unaccounted for. Fortunately all FedEx packages scheduled to arrive to me arrived on the day they were scheduled to.

I disagree with the opinion that we should cut FedEx some slack for delays at this time of year. Heavier volume is not unexpected and the company as a whole had almost one whole year to figure out a plan to cope with the added business.

It's both amazing and discouraging to me how the majority of the population in general mentally and physiologically slow down and lose IQ points at this time of year. It's frustrating to me when I always try to end the year on a high note while others lose complete focus for the entire month of December.

THe problem is a business like Fedex or USPS can't just add temporary RELIABLE capacity so they end up short on the peak periods. If any one shipper figures out how to do this they'll take business from the others.

Not being able to handle peaks effieciently is really just a fact of life in just about any business...snow removal, electric generation, and grocery store lines are 3 examples that come to mine. With the snow removal equipment they have in Duluth the schools would never close in Missouri. But every community buys the equipment necessary to deal with all but the worst 2-5% of the weather. --Jerry
