How can anyone possibly make you an offer when they have no idea what is in the "box of raw Petes" as you call it? Yes they can see the graded cards (now that you finally know if it is 11 or 12), but what are the raw cards? Are they all 1963 rookies? are they all 1981 Fleer? A person that really wants to sell something makes the effort.
  • hey nick its a$$holes like you (internet god father badass) that make me want to sell all of my stuff.you know what if you can say anything nice do not freakin post. hey if someone wants to know whats in a box of cards they will ask. i would like to meet you in person and just let you know how much i want to kick your teeth in. don russell

Nick's "nice" mind filter may not work, but he's exactly right. How would someone offer you a price or even say that they're interested if they don't know what is inside the "whole box of raw Petes"? I think that you might want to make a quick list (with an idea of condition, at least overall) of what is in the box.....or, at least the number of cards and a small list of the 'best' or most valuable cards with condition.

This could give those interested a good idea on whether they should send you an offer. With the vague description that you have listed here, you won't get any serious offers unless there are Pete Rose collectors that don't have the PSA cards in your registry.

    Good luck on the sale!

Arny - If anyone has ever seen any of my posts looking to sell something, they may not be interested in what im selling, but they sure as hell will know exactly what they are potentially getting from my EXTENSIVE DETAIL. This isnt a card show or hobby shop where I can hand someone the cards and say "this is what I have". This is the internet where if you want someone to buy something from a scan, or SIGHT UNSEEN IN THIS CASE, do a little work. This guy has been crying "woe is me no one answers my posts, no one ever helps me here" since he got here, so I answered his post, and I answered it as honestly as possible. His OP starts out "my set is like #11 or 12" so he was too lazy to even click on the site to see for sure.

Hey Don - Im holding a whole box of cards in my hand, wanna buy it? PM me with an offer.

  • its a 1500hp turbo mustang. its a 10.5 drag car im not getting into all of the details im pretty sure its sold unless you would offer me than him.. he is coming from maryland w/cash and a trailer. but i always entertain offers. so i have 60 k in the car i can chop 20k right off the top(because you never get what you put into these cars) i was asking 40k for it and i have several offers at 28-32k for it. don
  • Here's your link Don! Don't let them get to you so much. Some people on this board have very little respect for anyone. Whiny little b*tches. You should know that by now. Its amazing how tough someone can be behind that keyboard. That pisses me off too. Anyone could easily go to your registry and look up your set. I think the words Dons Pete Collection gives it away. If they were interested in those, I think a nice little private message asking to describe the rest of his cards would of been a little more courteous thing to do. Just my opinion.

Anyway, Happy Holidays and good luck selling your set! Jim

I have a 632 big chief engine and looking for a 25.1 car to put it in. My best friend has a "pro street" 6.60s 2000 corvette and I'd like to step up from an 8.90s corvette. The mustang is probably real nice but just isn't the right car for a 632.

Thanks for the response and congrats on the sale. Hard to get real money for cars at Christmas.

    Don-I got a 66 mustang convertiblewith a 289-runs like crap-but I love it !!! Best of luck selling the Pete cards !
  • It's pretty sad when there's argument over someone politely offering the sale of their set.

I, for one, would have skipped over it too (for lack of description and photos) but that doesnt mean I should be an ass to Donrus.

Good luck with selling the collection Sir. Dont mind some people on here...

  • ya know it really does not matter. if someone was really interested i would do all of that xtra work..but its alot of time when you are talking like 3000+ cards.. really i would be selling the highlight cards listed and the graded ones.

on a side note whats wrong with the 289,i know those motors like the back of my hand..thats my first hobby. i want to sell that race car so i can redo my 78 king cobra!.. but this time im not going to get stupid with a 1500 hp monster motor...lol don

    Don,

Wish you good luck selling your Rose items!

I listed my last group of (18) graded Rose items on ebay this week (I had the #5 Master Set at one time)... I not only had that wonderful set, but had untold numbers of graded and raw Rose items (cards, signatures, coins, kahn's meat metals, bronzes, misc. Rose collectables, plus many graded card dups, and on and on and on!!!)...

Who knows how many Raw Rose cards I have in stashed-away in boxes. At least you can put your hands on your raw Rose material.

My suggestion, break them up into small "tasty" lots of 10 or 20 raw and graded items and then market them on ebay. Take your time (unless u needed the cash like me!!!). You will sell them! The only Pete Rose item I can't sell is a 1984 Drake's Pete Rose BCCG 10. The card looks fine (u can see the Drake's card in my ebay link below!), but NOBODY wants BCCG! I think I re-listed it already 3 times, and can't sell it for 99 cents! (I paid more in listing fees! LOL!). If it does not sell this time, I'm going to give it away! (It's too nice to throw away! LOL!)

Again good luck with your Rose items and happy new year!

Now, here's my Pete Rose spam! image
