I don't know the specific details and couldn't find them on an online search, Michigan please help.
The local TV station in Columbus, OH reported that a home in Hilliard, OH was broken into and their home safe was stolen. Inside was $1.5 million in cash, coins, and jewelry, with the majority of the value in coins. What a sucky christmas! And it makes you think twice about home safes that aren't refridgerator size and impossible to carry away.

If there's a will there's a way.
All a safe does at times is slow the criminal down if it's not one that they can't load up and haul away and break into later.
Also until we see an article describing the safe, I wouldn't be shocked if it was one of those 49.00 file cabinet types that places sell as "safes".
Contents:
Gold and Silver: $50,000
Cash: $50,000
Jewelry: $10,000
And then really have nothing inside of it but papers. Have all my real stuff stashed away hidden. This way, if anyone ever really does get in, they will focus on that heavy paper weight of a safe, and not tear through my drawers and closets for nothing. And they will be an easier target for me to shoot them while they are trying to lug off that thing

I wish this guy woulda come to the local coin meetings with some show and tell...that 84 trade dollar woulda been cool to see. Sucks about the robbery and i'll keep my eye out around here. BTW i live like 4 miles from where the robbery happened. Everything valuable that i have is in Safety Deposit Boxes...

That's gonna be hard for a thief to sell.

Unfortunately, it will be easy to sell for melt.
An authorized PCGS dealer, and a contributor to the Red Book.
I sleep better at night but still have lots of room for more coins. More room than money right now.
<< <i>of course it could all be BS too...thats alot to haul away with out being noticed >>
If they had a truck and backed it up close to the house it would probably not be that easy to see what exactly
was going on.
