2006 Mint Set Potential?

The 2008 RedBook lists the 2006 mintage under 1 million.

Also, with the difference in appearance of satin finish rather compared to regular business strikes with mintages in the hundreds of millions.

Does this mean the 2006 Mint Sets have potential to skyrocket past the 2004 Mint Set prices of $60.00 anytime soon?

Also, can anyone supply the mintage for the 2007 Mint Set?

Thanks,

Chris

Edited to add: What of the 2009 Mint Sets with 3 dozen coins? Pricing? Collector value? Mintage estimates?

I think it does have potential.
I don't think it will rocket past the 2004 anytime soon (that one went up quickly because it was removed prior to XMas without notice....the 2006 has had a good run).

The 2007 stats are in NN (don't have it handy) but it will still be sold until the 2008 are ready or until they feel they need the presses for something else.
For the other questions....who knows...only time will tell.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

2009 Mint Set Potential Composition. Explanations of what I expect are below.

    Cents: Max 18 (Possibly 13, possibly 8)
    Nickels: 2
    Dimes: 2
    Quarters: 12
    Halves: 2
    Dollars: 10

Total: Max 46 Coins, possibly 41 or 36. Maximum face value $17.42!

Cents: Maximum 18, if all of the variations described in the legislation are made at the P&D Mint. Another Answer Mint be 13, with the 4 made at P&D, and the special metal and original form only made at a single Mint, or 8 if the specials are not in the mint set. See Legislation in this thread Link.

Dave reports ( 12-20-07 ) 764,898 - 2007 Mint Sets as being sold - so far. As Bochiman has already stated - the darned things are going to be sold far into 2008. Also, you need to consider all the various packaging option for the Presidential Dollars now available from the US Mint. Look for this to be a boom year for the Mint. And conversely, a not so great year for flippers.

The potential (that is, anywhere near some hopes and expectations) will not be realized in most of our lifetimes... if ever. Cheers, RickO
