Selling coins -why?

Most of us are coin collectors so we tend to accumulate coins. What makes us sell a coin?

Personally I tend to accumulate a lot of items that I really don't consider to be a part of my core collection. Several months ago I decided it was time to clean house and concentrate on those coins I consider to be my first love.

1) Make money for college
2) Make money to buy other coins.

I only sell in order to upgrade, brothers. Just like climbing a ladder, every time I sell a coin I get closer to the top.


Of course you brothers understand that everything's for sale if the price is right.

If I sell a coin it is usually to have money to purchase a different coin.

I wish that I could keep them all.

Decided it was crazy to pay so much for a coin/ quitting hobby

this crossed my mind an awful lot lately with gold going up
so fast. even the common dates cost more. i was buying coins
at 150 that now cost 225.

anything semi interesting costs 500 and up. more like 750.

At the moment I'm collecting RPM's on warnickels and getting over run with dups.. a lot if them are so minute you don't know they're dups till you put them under the scope.. so one day the wife put this sign over my desk..

Selling coins to buy other coins has never made much sense to me. I guess that's just because I'm a hoarder.

Though sometimes I upgrade...

I don't sell my coins unless there is a home priority that I need funds for.

90% of the time, I sell after I upgrade. Sometimes I sell right away, sometimes I wait months (or years).

There should be a choice for dealers. That way they could see the results which would then be more accurate.
