Taken from this Spanish website: Here

    Rough Translation:

Obverse: A GRAM -- 1870, around a circular of points that contains a seated matron with branch in the right arm and the left arm extended

Reverse: THOUSAND PIECES IN KILOG. -A CENTIMO around a circular of points that contains a lion that has an oval shield of Spain.

Type of currency: 1 CENTIMO (COPPER) mint: BARCELONA weight: 1 gr. Measure: 15 mm. year: 1870

    Comments:

The coin weighs a gram, it says that obviously, but I think the back in saying that 1000 of these equals a kilogram (or KILOG). I assume centimo translates to "cents."

Very common coins- I have a bunch, though I've not dug any. Yours is not the first I've heard of being dug here in the USA, though. My old NC detecting mentor found one.
