With my 10 set box, it would cost me a fortune if they do. It just arrived and I am not going to open it at this point, just in case.

Here's hoping it does well for you guys, but I think we aren't buying the set....too much stuff with no originality (other than cheap packaging) by the franklin mi ...err....US mint

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Not a bad lookimg set!
  • I like the idea of being able to only buy the 1$ coins of the year as oppossed to all the other "chump change". image

Cool! All the edge lettering where it should be??
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

i guess mine are on thier way unless some planes were delayed...i just ordered a box of ten. was only curious as to what ASE they were putting in there...even though they are all (ASE) minted at West Point.

there might be a few oddities in these so open it up and check! you can always send it back and still order more....lol

thanks for the OP here Texast

They are shrink wrapped in palstic much like many other sets in the past, you have to cut the plastic to take the coins out of the outer sleave.

But these are not loose coins. They are sealed in shrink wrap and I'm guessing that to remove them from the packaging you'd have to destroy that packaging. Any special certifications, which I doubt will occur, could be validated through the shrink wrap/special packaging.

Pretty much the same as the Millenium Eagle. These only have to be "sealed" in the government packaging and not "sealed" in an original shipping box.

I'd pop em open just to see if there were any dogs that should be returned.

Not only is the package in shrink wrap, but each coin has its own capsule, that can be rotated within the shrink wrap...pretty nifty

  • Are they satin finish or business strike coins?
  • I have three sets "in stock and reserved". I figure that will be more than enough. There is just one heck of a lot of stuff to consider buying from the mint. Also, my wife collects commems from the Canadian mint.image

I only opened one set. They look pretty nice. Now, I'm glad they're here before Christmas. It looks like the kids get coins for Christmas afterall.

  • My order says "in stock and reserved" but it also says "your order request is on hold"

Any idea what this means? Are they having a problem with my card?

    Cheers,

  • David,
If you order says that it is in stock and reserved, and then says on hold, you better call the Mint to double check. You don't want them to cancel your order, and they will do it without telling you.
