What's the story with this certification service? I'm seeing a lot of their coins, but very little about how they are regarded in the industry. Any information is appreciated.
Close your checkbook, and look real close at the coin in the plastic. You must decide for yourself what is in the plastic as what is printed on the label is of little use.
3-5 points overgraded and significant problems are generally ignored for their dealer submitters. Unless you're a hardcore cherrypicker and you really know what you're doing, steer clear.
A coin would only be in a NNC slab that would not make it into a reputable slab
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.
There seems to be lots of problem coins in their holders. I got an NNC-66 Morgan into a PCGS-64 holder once... it's the best I've ever done and it made me feel brilliant!
I won't buy NNC coins unless I see them in person first and the price is commensurate with what I think the real grade is.
Comments
Authentication is questionable as well.
The name is LEE!
Stay away. Treat coins in NNC slabs as raw and questionable.

Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
