I looked through the Heritage Lots Re FUN

Lots of truly amazing material. Of the material I collect, I was most impressed by the SLQs. Glad I got what I needed for my SLQ type in these grades, as I doubt I'd be able to pick up any of these babies at reasonable prices. There's a fine selection of Bust $s and some of them should be frighteningly expensive.

There is a huge collection of flowing hair and draped bust halves, by die variety, that interests me. The draped bust halves and dollars completely overwhelm the draped bust quarters, dimes, and half dimes, as one would expect. As I alluded to in another thread, while there are mini-hoards of such things as 1792 half dismes, 1861-D $5's, and the ever-ubiquitous Stellas, some of the rare date gold coins that I am accustomed to seeing in such sales are not to be found (1854-D, 1865, and 1877 $3, 1854-O and 1856-O $20, 1870-CC $10 and $20, low mintage Philly $20's, etc.).

There is a vast selection of early gold (except Fat Head $5's), but very little proof gold, especially in problem free choice+ and higher grades.

To me, it looks like an auction in which there are more narrowly specialized collections than the broad range of coins that I am accustomed to seeing in such a sale. This observation is based on my review of the lots in former, present, and future areas of interest and certainly is not a comprehensive one.
