ICG Sacagaweas?

Hello,
I was just cleaning up some of the coins around my desk. (very messy) I found these 2 coins graded by ICG. Can someone give me a brief History on them? Why are they in black? Thank you for any help,
Dan

  • Doesn't the label tell it all?

The first one was the coin in the Millenium Coin and Currency set that the US Mint produced. It included a Silver Eagle, a $1 Bill, and this Sacagawea (if I remember correctly). It was a burnished coin, and apparently had a limited mintage of 75,000.

The second coin is a 2000-P Sacagawea ICG MS68. I don't think there's anything particularly special about that one.

  • i have one of those millennium sacs in the same slab in for crossover. notice there is no grade on the slab. mine looks 67 with
a shot at 68. your other one is already a 68. there seems to be less value to coins in ICG holders. JMO

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe you had to pay extra for the Intercept Shield protection.

i will post when i get the results. it will be a few weeks as i just sent them and heading into the holidays and don`t expect them to get grades posted till after the new year. i also sent a 2001 sac experimental rinse in a SEGS 65 holder and hoping it will not downgrade.
