Ebay dilema

I recently had an auction end with the winner having 3 feedback including one Negative for not paying.
Its been about 4 days since I sent the invoice and have not recived payment or heard from the buyer. I have a bad feeling about this guy not paying.

Now for the dilema. Should I send a second chance offer to the next highest bidder? Its only one dollar less than the winning bid.

thanks

i would wait 7 days. after the 7th day email the buyer and tell him that if he does not reply you consider the deal null and void. Then file a NPB against him and then offer it to the runnerup.

    Good for you.
  • I'd say give the high bidder 3 more days. Some people will just mail out a MO after they win, without alot of communication in between. If after a total of 7 days, no payment, no response to a friendly email reminder, the 2nd chance option could be utilized.
  • A REAL dilemma would be offering the 2nd chance now, have the next high bidder accept, and open your mail Monday to find a check from the high bidder!

    Agreed.

4 days is too soon. I would even argue that 7 days is too soon. If he is submitting payment via snail mail, it could take 2 weeks to arrive, especially as we get closer to Christmas and the USPS slows to the speed of molasses.

Wait until this transaction is concluded, one way or the other, until making a second chance offer.

Take your time... I've had buyers who, for various (and good) reasons, take more than a week to reply, often replying about the same time a money order appeared from them. Many of them have become good repeat customers with high bids.
  • ok guys now what would you do. -2 feedback

I think im going to go with a second chance

Wait 7 days. E-Bay also requires that long before they will send the buyer a "reminder", at your request. I got so informed, with 1 bidder I did not trust to follow through with sale. Sale turned out OK.:..........Edited.. OK now after reading FB...Think I would e-mail lower bidder of situation and inform them after 7 days it is LIKEY to be available
  • even with the 5 negativ non paying feedbacks left in the past 3 days

I got to face the facts. This guy is not paying

The good part is that you still have the coin. If the worst thing that ever happens to a seller is that he runs into a NPB, count your blessings. Buyers can get your item and then reverse c/c charges, etc and say they received nothing, an empty box, etc. Then you'll know what a real problem is.

I agree with coinlearner on this one.. Notify the underbidder that it "may" become available, that way he doesn't run off and buy anotherimage then file a npb with ebay and ask them when you should resell it. Freaking npb's are worse than dirt under footimage
