Ok I should know this and I know I will get this question this weekend. Why is the scale from 0 to 70? Why not 0 - 100, 1 - 50, etc?
Just curious......

Stone ugly, barely enough of the coin visible to make out any detail.

Many of us ask the same question.
The “system” is non-linear, has no agreed-to standards and inconsistently, and is deceptively applied by both the honest and dishonest.
<< <i>I like the scale, it is something that makes sense and is understood by coin collectors..... >>

ngc# 2215513-071, do you think it's worth any money? it should of come back pf 69.
<< <i>i sent some proof ben franklin (founding father) to ngc last year, and one come back (pf 89 ultra cameo)i guess it's better than pf 70?

69DCAM for the proof coins over the past few year is pretty much a default grade because of the modern product standards. It's likely not worth a great deal more than $60-$70 at this point.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...

A coin graded by NGC at PF-89 UC? Cool. Would you happen to have an image of the holder you could share? I would have sent you a PM, but you have that option is turned off. Thanks.

A lot of coins get "69s" - must be all the male graders...
