While they're a possibility in that part of town (as Millennium's finds a block away have proven), I'm shooting for Seated on this site. With Barbers as a close second choice. Some Indian Heads would be nice and are a very real possibility.
But if I get silvered, it's all good.
As long as Steve doesn't outsilver me in the good finds department. I don't care if he gets more than I do- I just hope he gets 20th century stuff and leaves the 19th century for me.
Of course it could be a total skunkfest. But I doubt it will be that. Between the three of us (Steve, our host, Ty, and myself), somebody is gonna find something cool.
Hey, Steve- it rained last night, like we'd hoped! I'm relieved. That lawn needed a good washdown after yesterday's adventure.
I spent last night getting the pictures ready, and have to do the writeup this morning. I will post the full details soon.
It should come as no surprise to any of you that The Mighty Millennium totally dominated the other two diggers trailing behind in his dust, and "showed us how it's done".
But each and every one of us, including Ty Herig, our host (a detecting novice) was successful in proportion to his level of experience. Ty got his first piece of silver and actually crossed a minor milestone that I myself have not crossed yet!
It was a blast, and just about ideal coinshooting. The trash wasn't bad, and the ratio of older coins to modern ones was excellent.
I do love an old Victorian house's yards- sometimes it doesn't get much better than that, for pure coinshooting.
PS- were I to rate it, I would say the place met about 85-90% of my expectations. That's pretty good in treasure hunting, particularly when one has visions of grandeur about how good a place might be beforehand. And that was only one visit. Most of what I expected to see turned up, but ended up in Steve's pouch rather than mine. Still, I am very happy with what I did get.
Thank God......As much as we all tried to cover our paths, it was still pretty beaten up. .
Not quite this bad, but worse than I have ever left a place before...the dirt was powdery, and when taken out of the hole just disappeared...A good rain will certainly help it. Man, we had a great time!..TY and LM are great hunting partners.
Wow... first report sounds really great.. to meet that level of expectations LordM is super. We await the diary.. thanks for the 'teaser'.. Cheers, RickO

Can't wait to see the finds.
