There is always an exception to the rule, and Russ is usually it, of course he does have some nice items for sale, in fact I just got my 64 Kennedy in the OGH from him today, nice coin, only took about ten taps to get it aligned in the holder.

As for December it's been bad for auctions, so-so for fixed price, my month over month sales are slow right now, but I am making a good margin, buying large lots at lower prices and getting some good picks that have made some good profits. I have to believe the country is already in a recession and it's starting to catch up with ebay sales across the board.

Ebay's having a powerseller challenge where they set hugely high goals for you and then rebate you something if you make it. Sounds like nobody's threatening the goal except Russ. have you hit your goal yet Russ?

    Pretty close. image

Last December was my worst month in 2006, (read: it REALLY sucked), and most of the sales were the second half of the month. This December is much stronger, but that 23,000 plus percent increase will be down to about 300% by the end of the month.

  • Off an on for me. A recent success story is that I took some coins to the Bay State show to "wholesale" at very fair prices. None of the dealers wanted to buy three particular Lincolns and a Walker at $225, $475, $525 and $800. Started them on ebay at $.99 with no reserve and they just sold for $351, $555, $750 and $1,290 respectively. An 09-S VDB in PCGS 63 RB I was willing to let go for $1,750, again, all the dealers passed so it also came home with me and is currently up to $2,175. Go figure.

Maybe some of those Paypal coupons are helping with the higher price coins.
